Langkawi is like Bali or Phuket, but it's in Malaysia. It's a very small island consisting of beautiful beaches. If you ask what to do there, you can do a LOT. You can do Island Hopping, snorkeling, hiking, and so on, but unfortunately you can't surf, because there are no waves for this island is surrounded by a lot of small island (99 if I'm not mistaken). They have a great cable car facility, underwaterworld (seaworld), great highway, etc.
For the food, there are nothing special here. You can find Malaysian Favorites Nasi Lemak almost everywhere, the chicken rice, Indian food, grilled seafood with fries, and beers. Oh, if you want to try something different, you can visit a corner near the Airport, there are some kind of cars who served snacks such as noodles, roojak, es cincau, and some food i can't remember what it called. It's cheap but nice.
So, Langkawi? It's a good place to visit, and for having Honey Moon, it's quite recommended.
